Even though we grew up only ten minutes from one another, we finally met in Starkville in 2018! We had countless friends in common - it was a mystery how we hadn't met any sooner. We spent our first months of dating realizing JUST how many times we had been at the same places at the same times... only rooms apart. The Lord truly had His own timeline for our story. Our first date was back at home over Christmas break of 2018. So, yes, Micah had to come to the FRONT door of MK's house as if we were still in high school... My parents still find it so funny how mortified I was that he met them on the first date. But, in pure Micah fashion, he had to put his best foot forward. We went to the Christmas Lights at the Memphis Botanical Gardens (one of our now-favorite traditions) for our first date. After spending hours talking around the gardens' bonfire, it felt as if we had known one another for years. From that day on, we couldn't spend a day apart. Three-and-a-half years later, here we are! We still call Starkville home and will continue to do so for the next several years. Mary Katherine works on Main Street for Glo while also running a photography business. Micah will be graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in December, and then plans to immediately begin the doctorate program at MSU for engineering. We have the sweetest fur baby Layla who makes our days so much brighter (and furrier), and we have loved every moment of this new journey together. We cannot wait to begin this next chapter together as husband and wife. We look forward to celebrating our marriage with everyone in Hot Springs!
